Ai-Media is a captioning comapany, founded in 2003 by Alex Jones and Tony Abrahams as a social enterprise dedicated to ending the experience of social, educational and vocational exclusion.
Since that time, the Company has been making a measurable difference for people who are deaf or who have difficulty hearing; introducing captioning services to subscription television in Australia in 2004 with Offline Captioning services to channels on FOXTEL and AUSTAR platforms, including live captioning services for FOX SPORTS and SKY NEWS.
Since 2006, Ai-Media has used its expertise in live captioning using respeaking technology to develop the Ai-Live™ technology.
In April 2010, Ai-Media launched their realtime speech-to-text solution, Ai-Live™. Since this time the solution has won multiple awards. This world-first solution is continually under development and is being used in schools, TAFEs, universities, events, workplaces, courts; with personalised captioning delivered to clients iPads, tablets or laptops.
Ai-Live™ was showcased on ABC1’s The New Inventors. The innovative nature of, and need for, Ai-Live™ was recognised, winning its episode and the People’s Choice Award – and was recognised in the final series in September 2010.
